Twin Stroller With Car Seats: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

Buying a Twin Stroller With Car Seats

When you are a baby you may want to purchase a light frame stroller that is compatible with two infant car seats. Some of the best options include the UPPAbaby Vista V2 Double or Joovy TwinRoo+.

This model allows car seat carriers to face either same or opposite directions and comes with a large storage bin that you can access without having to remove the infant carriers. It can also be easily fit through most doorways.

Ease of folding

The UPPAbaby Vista V2 is a huge gorgeous twin stroller. It can accommodate two infant car seats when fitted with the appropriate adapters (car-seat adapters are available separately). It easily glides and pushes while turning and spinning as a single-seat stroller. It features adjustable footrests and legrests and a huge UPF 50+ canopy, peekaboo windows and padded 5-point safety harnesses. You can also use the included toddler seat, or choose to add the RumbleSeat that is a bassinet-like seat for babies and small children. The large storage basket offers plenty of space to store everything you need and comes with four cup holders, which is a place to store your phone or purse.

It can be a challenge to fold, particularly when you hold the handlebar with one hand while holding the child's seat in the other. You'll also need to disconnect the rear seat from the base when you want to fold it up, a process that is more time-consuming than other double strollers we've tried. Fortunately, the company upgraded the Vista to work with its new car seat adapters. The new version--launched April 2023) will work with both the original and the updated adapters in both configurations, and will fold with two of the adapters attached at once.

Another option for families with twins is the Joovy TwinRoo+, our favorite infant car seat twin stroller frame. It can be used with 23 different car seats and twins can be carried in their infant carriers simultaneously. It's a favorite for many parents driving smaller cars and its innovative design shortens the overall length to fit better into smaller trunks. The seats are comfortable and cushioned, and they can be reclined in a variety of positions by pressing a button. The buckles are among the simplest to unfasten and fasten in our tests.

The only issue with the TwinRoo+ is its bench seat, which is made for an older child who is at or above 2 1/2. It is not suitable for twins and siblings with similar ages. It's still a great choice for families who wish to exercise and the robust construction means that it won't deteriorate as fast as other tandems.

Wheel Suspension

The suspension of the wheels on twin strollers with car seats is a feature that makes it more comfortable for the children. This is particularly true if you are walking over bumps and rough terrain. Strollers with suspension have larger wheels, and usually have more shocks than strollers without. The more shocks a stroller has, the smoother it will ride.

A twin stroller with car seat that is easy to steer will be more durable. It will allow it to last longer, which is ideal for those who plan to use it for multiple children or for a long period of time.

The Baby Trend Snap-N Go Double is among the best twin strollers designed for infants with car seats. It has great wheel suspension and it's an old model. It comes with many features parents love, such as two cup holders, a parent console that has a cup holder, and a large storage basket. It also has a height-adjustable handle that is ideal for taller parents.

Another option that is popular for twins with infant car seats is the Chicco BravoFor2. This is a sit and stand stroller that could be used as a twin stroller or with a single infant seat in front. It's a spacious stroller that folds to a small size. It has some nice touches like magnetic crotch belts which can be opened or closed with just one hand.

It also has a 5-point harness, which is vital because it keeps your children safe in the event of an accident. This feature isn't always found on strollers, but it is mandatory for families with toddlers or infants.

The Contours Options Elite V2 is another top choice for twin strollers that can accommodate carseats. It has all of the wonderful features we like, including reversible seats and one-hand recline, compression padding in both seats, adjustable leg rests, zippered extensions on both canopies and extra-large storage. It also comes with adjustable height for the handles as well as a new seat design that makes it easier to reverse the seats when you're on the go.

Canopy

A canopy can shield your children from the sun and rain. Certain models include extra features, such as a peekaboo or adjustable handles. One of our most popular choices, the BravoFor2, has an adjustable front seat that buckles at the shoulder and waist--making it easy for a single person to take both kids out. Its bench seat can only accommodate children of at least 2 1/2 years old so it is not suitable for twins or smaller siblings. This stroller is compact and has handles on both sides to help take it to the car.

Some parents prefer a double stroller that can be used side-by-side as it is less likely to cause sibling disputes. These strollers allow you to see both children at the same time, making it easy for parents to supervise and converse with them. The drawback is that side-by-side strollers tend to be heavier and longer than single models.

If you're looking for a lightweight and affordable option Baby Trend Double Snap-N'-Go is a highly rated and budget-friendly option. It accepts two car seats for infants and the newer version allows the seats to face either way. The newer version is smaller than the previous model, however it still weighs more and is larger than the Joovy TwinRoo+.

Jeep's Urban Glide 3 is our top-rated twin-jogger for parents who prefer to run. This stroller accommodates one car seat at a time--and even though it does not have an integrated infant carrier, it works with 23 different car seats with an adapter that clicks in. It's a sturdy, well-constructed stroller that can carry big loads without straining. Also, we were impressed by the way the handles can be adjusted to suit your height.

If you have two children with the same age, you may prefer a model that lets you sit and stand, such as the Joovy Twin Roo+. This stroller can accommodate two infant car seats or one toddler seat, and offers a standing platform that allows older kids to stand on. It's a little more expensive than our budget-friendly stroller, however the company that makes it is a small family business with outstanding customer service.

Seating

If you're planning to use car seats for infant twins A stroller that can accept them will be essential. Our top-rated strollers are compatible with the most well-known car seat brands. For example the UPPAbaby Vista v2 double works with two car seats, and the Joovy Twin Roo+ accommodates one car seat as well as a bassinet (sold separately). We recommend strollers that work with a variety of infant car seats brands because it lets you shop for a wide range of prices without being locked into one particular brand.

You'll need to decide if you prefer a tandem or side-by-side stroller. A twin stroller with a side-byside arrangement is more traditional and easy to maneuver, particularly in restricted spaces and over curbs. A tandem stroller however is more unstable and requires more room between the seats. The different seat heights may result in an argument between siblings.

Fortunately, we've found that there are plenty of stroller options that can be used by families with twins who are infants or children who are similar in age. The Baby Trend Sit & Stand  double stroller , for example, is a highly rated option that works with car seats. Parents can transport their babies in comfort from the vehicle to the stroller.

The front and rear baskets of the stroller are large. They're ideal for storage of everything you need including backpacks, diaper bags and other clothes. The front storage also includes a space for your keys and phone. The baskets come with mesh sides to help prevent items from falling out, meaning you don't have to search for them.

Evenflo Pivot Xpand Double is another budget-friendly option. It offers a similar level of versatility as many of our award-winning strollers. Its seats can be converted into two toddler seats, or modified bassinets. They can also be used with two infant car seats. This makes it a good choice for twins from birth through early childhood.
